A Women's Cycling Resource

I just saw your web site and found it to be very interesting.  I am a cyclist in
the Austin, Texas area (I actually live on the outskirts, near a small town called
Dripping Springs -- great Hill Country riding out that way).

I am going to turn 59 next month.  I never have the urge to lie about my age.  I am a grandmother and am proud to say that cycling keeps me very fit.  I love riding my bike with my husband, my friends, and cycling club members.

Riding makes me feel like a kid again, plus I get to enjoy the great outdoors
and stay fit at the same time.  What could be better?

I plan to keep riding until my legs fall off.  I love it that much.

I sent a message to your site about a local women's cycling team, called the Austin Flyers.  They regularly race out here at the Driveway, a spectacular cycling racing venue that is touted as the best racing in Texas.  They also offer cycling workshops for women, one of which I attended a couple of years ago.  A bunch of us learned to ride in a paceline, among other things.  What an experience!  Great group.  They do a lot to promote cycling in Austin.  You should include them in your site.

Since you asked for photos, I'm attaching one of me (I'm in the center), my husband (he's the one with the mustache!) and my best friend, Toni, at a local charity ride that took place in Johnson City in April.  I regularly participate in charity rides, notably the LiveStrong Challenge (my husband is a cancer survivor and I lost my dad, and several good friends, to cancer).  My husband and I were actually featured in several videos for the LAF and that organization has our wholehearted support.

I like your site and will give it a look on a regular basis.  I'll also share it on Facebook.  Thanks.  Keep up the good work.

Debra

***Thanks Debra!  It is inspiring to see all the women out there who are spinning their wheels! ***
